TOKYO - Japan's next prime minister(首相) might be nicknamed "the alien(外星人)," but it's his wife who claims to have had a close encounter(邂逅) with another world.
"While my body was asleep, I think my soul rode on a triangular-shaped(三角形状的) UFO and went to Venus(金星)," Miyuki Hatoyama, the wife of premier-in-waiting Yukio Hatoyama, wrote in a book published last year.
"It was a very beautiful place and it was really green."
Yukio Hatoyama is due to be voted in as premier(首相) on Sept. 16 following his party's crushing(决定性的) election victory over the long-ruling Liberal Democratic Party(自由民主党) Sunday.
Miyuki, 66, described the extraterrestrial(地球外的) experience, which she said took place some 20 years ago, in a book entitled(名为) "Very Strange Things I've Encountered."
